Health Promotion Programming

In 2006 adults ≥ 65 made up 14% of the county’s population

• By 2030 the population 65 and older will increase 50% to 12,292. This group will make up 19% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults are slightly less educated, more live in rural areas, 92% are white, and there are similar levels of disability.
• The median income is similar to the state, and fewer older adults are below the poverty level, but 36% of those over 75 are at the poverty level.
• Medical conditions are similar to the state.
