• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 58% to 5,918 people. This group will make up 26% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults are less educated, 66% live in rural areas, 50% are African American, and 36% have two or more disabilities.
• The median income is significantly lower than the state average, and over 33% of adults age 75+ are at the poverty level.
• The Hertford County Office on Aging offers telehealth kiosks at Senior Centers.
