• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 75% to 37,116 people. This group will make up 26% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults are better educated, 47% live in rural areas, there is less disability, and 97% are white.
• The median income is significantly higher than the state, and less than 10% of older adults are at the poverty level.
• There were a higher number of hospital discharges due to falls.
