• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 116% to 22,112 people. This group will make up 14% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults have similar demographics, but are slightly less educated, and more live in rural areas (66%).
• Median incomes are less than the state and more older adults are at the poverty level.
• There are more hospital admissions for respiratory illnesses.
