Health Promotion Programming

In 2006 adults ≥ 65 made up 13% of the county’s population

• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 88% to 47,103 people. This group will make up 21% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults are less educated; fewer live in rural areas (22%); and have similar racial demographics and levels of disability.
• The median income is slightly lower, and 25% of those age 65-74 and 32% of those aged 75+ are at the poverty level.
• 17 Code Orange days in 2006.
• Region F will be delivering three EBHP in 2008.
