In 2006 adults ≥ 65 made up 14% of the county’s population
• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 62% to 18,246 people. This group will make up 21% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults are less educated (58% do not have a high school education), 95% are white, and 28% have two or more disabilities.
• Fewer older adults are below the poverty level, however 30% of those age 65+ are just above the poverty level, and the average median income is lower.
• 2006 had 3 Code Orange Days.
